I think it might be the 'Flash pleco,' L204, but I'm not an expert.

Hello,

Definitely not L129. I can't make out much of the body features with him hiding in the log, but L204 is a definite possibility.

It looks more like a Hypancistrus species, the head and the size of the eyes compared with the body exclude a Panaque species. It looks like a youngster too wich make it difficult to id correctly, can you take some more pics and speciel a sideview...if you have an origin it would help too.

I'm confused now--is it my imagination, or has the original pic been swapped for one of a different fish.

Actually, I think you're right  the original pic was of a fish stuck in some bogwood.

You're right - I did a refresh of the link, and I get a completely different picture. [I blame that on the caching proxy servers!]

Unfortunately, the picture is pretty unsharp, but it does look more like than in my opinion on this picture.

Yes, Daniel have put a new picture but it seams to be the same fish, unfortunatly is the pictures not good enough to determine what species it's.

Definitely not the same specimen. Maybe same species as some are highly variable, but other photos had nowhere near as much bright color.

The pictures is not so good and they are still youngsters, it's difficult to determine at this stage what species they could be...let them grow for a year or so until they get mature. It's not impossible that they can be L333 but they are not L129.
