'Piebald' lancers?

Post by Chrysichthys »

Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me, but LFS has some bagrids being sold as 'lancer catfish.' They do look like lancers except they have a piebald black and white pattern like a cow (as well as a white lateral line).

I'll take pics next time I'm there, but in the meantime has anybody seen or heard of piebald lancers, or another bagrid with a piebald pattern? I'm quite intrigued.

All lancers develop a black and white mottled pattern, especially when they are active at night. Unless you are referring to .

Thanks, I think that's probably what they are; I'll post some pics ASAP.
