Synodontis schoutedeni = Batensoda?
was this fish once called Synodontis schoutedeni? I have some that I bought as synos but look exactly like the juvi pic.

It is possible there was confusion somewhere along the line of supply...it happens

I'd say it's more likely that the two species are confused by a wholesaler or shop.
[And to anyone looking at the Cat-eLog data sheet, I have just posted an update which, subject to Jools approval, fixes all those "extra linebreaks"]

I think Mats is likely to be correct that any confusion is due to the wholesaler or retailer. They are 2 quite distinct species
B.Batensoda - true inverter, mostly plain grey/brown, 8-10" TL
S.Schoutedeni - 6-7" TL, base colour varying but light with dark scribble pattern, not a true inverter
