multipunctatus fungus meds

Post by kvnbyl »

i have a 120 gal tank with a school of 20 s. multipunctatus. 3 of them have collided with driftwood at some point and now have developed a fungus infection. I tried pimafix and it didn't seem to do any good. i am wary of traditional fungus medications in suggested doses; i assume the multi's will have problems at normal doses. the only other fish in the tank are a school of about 25 green tiger barbs. does anyone have a suggestion for medication and/or doses. they are currently separated out in a 30 gal tank Thanks!

p.s for those who are thinking that i am getting my continents confused by putting synodontis in the same tank with green tiger barbs, all that i can say is that it works. The tank is planted, my water is prety close to neutral, not too hard, and both fish get along well. the barbs add enough of a dither fish factor that the syno's are out in the open most of the day.
