My first wild pleco spawn!!

Post by Julie »

Woohoo!! I was so excited last night as I was feeding the tanks... and noticed something adhering to the sides of the L089 tank... Thought it was remenants of the oak leaves in there (apistos also live in that tank, and love the leaf litter!). But then I noticed that there were tons of pleco fry in the tank.. all playing *stuck on the glass*!

This was a thrill... after years and years of bringing in great fish, selling most, growing a few out only to have some discerning person come in and buy my almost grown-outs... I finally got some to spawn!!! And yes, Barbie... it did help to finally put in a suitable cave for him  ... spawning took place wihtin about 2 weeks... and all I've seen of him is his tail since the day after I put in the cave!

Now if only the zebs will follow suit... wonder if I should put their dirty water into the zebra tank?

See? I told you it wasn't hard! Now you just have to grow them out for 6 months to sell them for less than you paid for the food you put into them! Then you'll be just as successful at all this as I am! Oh wait...
