im struggling to feed my syno njassae catfish help pls!!!

i have just bought 4 wc syno njassae catfish and are kept with my mbuna cichlids, but im finding it hard to feed them,

i thought id feed them when the blue moon lights are on, so i waited an hour after the moon light came on them i dropped a few vegi tablets in for the catfish but the tablets were seen very quickly by the greedy cichlids and they were eat in seconds!!!,

so my next plan is drop the tablets in the tank when the tank lights are off and also the room is dark, will this work ? or will the catfish fall a sleep as well??

also need to know is is njassae carnivore,herbivore or omnivore

i did notice that the catfish were very round from the underneath belly!! i assume, is this becuase they have eat a dead fish in my tank! as i think i have lost a fish as i couldnt c him for 2 days

Vegetable extract foods and tablet foods. Will accept commercial foods.

Catfish are most active after dark. The blue moon light will not affect them, but it will help the c*****ds to see better. Do the c*****ds eat off the bottom? If not then breaking the tablets up will mean there is a greater chance of some reaching the bottom, without increasing the amount of food.
Also, being wildcaught, they will be a lot more shy for longer when introduced into your tank. If they are really hungry then they will come out, but they can survive around three weeks without food. I'm going on holiday and leaving my tanks without food for two weeks, and I have no big worries about them.
How long have you had them? There's probably no real reason to worry yet.

i know they will eat commercial food ect but id just like to know wether they were carnivores, herbivorse ect
