1 of the 4 syno njassae catfish is darker in colour and...

Post by ismalj »

hi i have 4 wc syno njassae and 1 is a bigger in size compare to the other 3 but the larger 1 is dark in colour and is the same colour as the others when they go dark but generally the smaller 3 are like a silvery goldy look when coloured up, he does look exactly the same as other (i.e) spots, shape ect so he is defo a njassae aswell,

he/she also tends to bully ( chases) the others alot, is this becuase he is dominent becuase of size ?

thanks and regards jAV

Hey,

use a search option :). There was a few interesting topics about Synodontis njassae.

There is for sure a "big spot" variety of this species as well as more copper coloured one :).
If you have WC fish there is no reason to worry - if you are sure they are WC ;).

Regards.

I have three Garra flavatra's and their colour gets lighter, the smaller they are.
I think the leader of a group feels the most secure because they are not being bullied by other fish. Because of this they show their more natural colours. Generally the darker the fish, the more dominent. All your fish are most likely absolutely fine. :D

There is indeed some varience within the species - any chanc of a photo of the 2 variants you have?
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!
