Odd happenings with photos and message.

Here's something weird.
I was doing some photo maintenance and realized the photo links in an older post would have to be adjusted. I went there to do it, and found they were gone.
Here is the post:

Not only are the photos missing, but the first line of the message makes no sense at all:

On October 13, I bought a male Ancistrus catfish approximately 4½â?

Everything else seemed to be normal.
What's up? It's not an earth-shaking issue, but it's odd.

Hi Deb,
I believe it had something to do with changing to another server and/or provider about 2 years ago. Perhaps Jools or Mats are able to explain in more detail?

Jools would know for certain. But if the photos were from your ALBUM, then I'd say that explains why they are no longer there.

Mats, the photos were linked from a Photobucket account.
They disappeared as collateral damage to the original message.
What happened to that first message?
As I recall it, the first message was a rather long explanation of what I had done already, and you yourself, Mats, replied and your reply implies that there was a lot of information in the first post. Where did it go?
Why did my original first post turn into this:

That wasn't what I wrote at all. What does that bizarre half sentence mean? And what are those strange symbols - 4½â ? Can you see them?

The scribbly bits are probably due to a change from Unicode to UTF-8 (or something like that).

[I wrote a long explanation as to how this works, but I doubt anyone who isn't DEEPLY familiar with computers would actually follow it].
