What kind of oto is this?

What kind of oto is this?

I found this little oto at the LFS in a tank full of the more common types with the horizontal stripe - not sure of the species. This guy looked different with a mottled pattern. Is this a color / pattern variation, or a different species? Thank you in advance.

Hi, I have one that looks like that as well. I hear they're difficult to positively ID when alive but look at the second picture in this link: and the bottom two in this link:
Racing, shoes and fish. Nothing else matters. Oh, and bacon.
