Oops...plant turns into fish?

Post by L number Banana »

Um, what's wrong with this picture? Maybe the old pseudogladiolus has classified this fish as a plant?
Didn't know stick fish had a bloom time and require full sun.

Wow! A Pl*co with yellow flowers! I wonder where they sell them.

And how do you plant them, tail up or down?

Can they filter the substrate through their gills, or, if not, how do you keep their tails planted?

There is a "report problem" link at the bottom of the page... It seems like there's just some sort of mixup.

 Yup.
I sent them a message. At least they can easily track the mix-up with the F.pseudogladiolus and F.gladiolus sending the system in the wrong direction.

Ya gotta admit it's kind of funny though.

if they're aware and it's still there, we're wrong not to laugh. I have always believed that humor is where you find if and we miss out on most of what's good, if we ignore such gifts. As long as it doesn't hurt anybody, it's fair game.

Yes, of course it's funny - just in the same way that "Bagarius" for a period had the pronunciation in the Cat-eLog of "Hip-ans-iss-truss" or something like that. It's sort of funny, but you also loose some of the confidence in the site, because it's clearly wrong and no one has fixed it.

In this case, I suspect it's simply that whoever is supposed to fix it hasn't got to it fixed yet.

These things happen and we're all aware of how busy you guys all are so it's probably the same at that site. The rest of that site has always been really good so I think this is just a wee boo-boo.

I also appreciate the occasional fast-typing mistakes from all of us here. Some very amusing versions of L number Banana have cropped up and I think Pet Bals was a good one. Bas Pels got a giggle out if it too. A very bright pet indeed, we would all want one.

Chairs!

If we didn't have faith in the quality of the site, if the site was notorious for poor quality (which it's not, obviously), then these things wouldn't be nearly as funny! It's the jarring contrast with the expected norm that adds to the humor. Lord knows that I am guilty of these mistakes. My litteracy is not an issue (I'm not illiterate; my parents were married!), but my typing skills are, so my gaffes aren't nearly as funny as the flowering pl*co, because they are (to anyone paying attention to my posts) somewhat expected. :D
