New member from Wisconsin, United States

Hi all,

I just signed up last night. I don't have a lot of experience keeping catfish or studying them, but I am setting up a new species tank with a Synodonitis and I would like to share observations and build my knowledge about them. This looks like a great site. I plan to start a journal soon in an appropriate sub-forum on these new fish that I will be acquiring.

Cheers,

Welcome. I miss Madison, lived there 7 years. There were a couple of nice shops, but I think they're gone now. Good luck with your new tank...

Hey thanks for the greeting. A couple of shops did close down here, but another nice one opened on the west side of town. My wife is from the Boston area and we go out there for holidays. Can you recommend any good Boston LFSs?

There are only a couple of shops I frequent for fish in this area. Neither are in Boston.

One in Millis sometime's posts here, Uncle Ned's Fish Factory, best shop around.

The other in Framingham is called Tropic Isle.

In Boston itself I don't know of much that is interesting, though there are 1-2 tiny shops in Chinatown that sometimes have oddballs in dark tanks...

Thanks MatsP!

I suppose commercial rent in Boston might be too high to run a fish shop. I'll try to make it to those shops you mention when we go for Christmas.
