finally! the day has come and these little suckers have gotten out of their shells!
the gravel in there is 2-3mm in diameter and om worried that might pose a threat. they jam them selves in then just easily go out
its a 3.6l container.
the sand in canberra is actually not healthy for fish. thats what the people in the lfs and Canberra aquarium society people say.
but there is around 30 eggs

i took out the air stone because i thought the current is too strong for them.
in 2 days i will be feeding them some fry starter foods. its a product that is actually meant for fry.
its an aquasonic product

You can get a valve that allows you to adjust the airflow on an airstone. Getting a tiny bit of movement in there should be fine - but it should definitely be very gentle.

Yes, I would use aquarium SAND - it can be the finest you can get (like table salt), but a grain size of 1-2mm is ideal. As long as it's smooth, it should be fine. Playsand (for childrens sand playpits or whatever you call it) is good, and you should be able to get that (in 10 or 25kg bags) at one of your local Toy or DIY shops - although it tends to be kept at a seasonal basis, so some times of the year [winter in England] it can be hard to find.

there defintely not sharp-there a bit rounded, but this is the best i can egt-apparently this type of gravel is used in planted aquariums because its small and plants roots can stay tightly

Any good soil/gardening supply yard in Canberra would stock bagged white washed sand. This a really good and economical option for cories.

today was scary because the fry saver fell over but i managed to save most of the fry but a few got out-but i decided to let them be but just the next moment i saw a 1cm big fry that was growing happily and later found 2
before this spawning that started the thread, i had my first cory spawn which went wrong and he whole thingfailed.
im guessing these 2 fry mustve survived the whole time!!!! im so ecstatic! they are so adorable
iguess the plus of this is that it did a water change, found 2 fry that came from the first spawning ever and the gravel was all tipped tp 1 side making a massive clear patch so thee fry will be able to see the food!!!
