Hemisynodontis membranaceus name should be changed...

Post by MatsP »

According to C. J. Ferraris' Checklist of Catfishes it should be Hemisynodontis membranacea (as Hemisynodontis is feminie, so the name should end with -a, not -us).

CoF has the "new" name as well: Current status (of Synodontis guentheri): Synonym of Hemisynodontis membranacea

Yes, but not for the actual species of H. membranacea, something I pointed out to Bill Eschmeyer, so it will be corrected in the near future.

is now there. I think the old spelling should be added as a synonym - will move this to resolved in anticipation!

Also, as some might have guessed, this means the "rename existing species" admin tool feature is now working again in the new forum environment.

I've fixed Jools' original post, but not the quotes of the same.
