Ancistrus identification

Post by pleco_breeder »

I've only this morning noticed that the identification section for all Ancistrus sp. states, "Mature males and sometimes females have soft tentacles (bushy fleshy growths) on the snout - this is unique within the genus Ancistrus."

This makes it sound as if each species is unique in having soft tentacles. A more proper statement, fix, may be, "Mature males and sometimes females have soft tentacles (bushy fleshy growths) on the snout - this is unique to the genus Ancistrus."

I know it's splitting hairs, but a lot of beginners could read it and get the wrong idea.

Thanks, I have updated the entry - Jools will have to approve it before it goes live, so it may take up to a few days to come through.
