hoplosternum pectorale or ?

hello all.

i picked a lovely trio of these bubblenesters up from a friend. i have confirred with paul turly and he believes them to be hoplosternum sp. cf. pectorale. any ideas would be very appreciated. the fish are all 4 inches long and at least 4 years of age.

These are either H. littorale or H. magdalenae (looks more like H. magdalenae to me, but I'm not too sure).

WHERE MIGHT I FIND INFORMATION ON THE H.MAGDALENAE? THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE. ALSO I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE LITORALE GOT TO BE UPWARDS OF 6-7 INCHES?

Their requirements are no different from those of H. littorale.

do you know of a picture or any link where i might get information? also i just saw an article in shanes world on a species of darwf hoplo called lepthoplosternum sp. is this a possibility?

No, your fish does not appear to be any one of the four species of Lepthoplosternum. Other than Reis (1997), I don't know of any other publication or websites with substantial info available.
