Please help ID my Farlowella

Post by J.B. »

Good evening folks, I've not visited here in a while, but I've a new catfish that I need help to positively ID. From looking at the Cat-eLog here and doing some Google searching, I believe what I have is Farlowella cf. vittata. If one of you could verify, I would be greatly appreciative.

Here are some pics, (s)he is about 5½" long at the moment.

Thanks, Shane! What is the difference between the F. vittata and the F. cf. vittata?

To be honest, I had no idea we had a in the Cat-eLog and I am not sure why. The fish shown as cf vittata is vittata. Rostrum length varies by population and the identity characteristics are pretty broad as what we now call "vittata" was four separate spp at one time that have since been all "lumped" together.
