need help sexing Lophiosilurus alexandri

just got hold of these two pcs of pacman catfishes, need some help in sexing them

is this a male? this pc is 15inches.


female? this pc is 17inches.

I'm about as remote from an expert as you can get on these fish, but I'd say they are both the same sex. I couldn't tell you whether it's male or female, tho'.

the first pic has very protruding or rather prominent papilla which led us believing they are of different gender.

wow! sexing these guys are difficult
