Hi my friends, We bought 10 corydoras melini with some of my friends called catfish group in Turkey to breed them and make this cory fish commen in our country.Melinis are F0, at least we know like that! Melinis came us in senseless and sleepy, after fresh water they move healty.So, the package water of them smells heavy and in yellow color! We suppose they thrive eugenol in it!
But in all three of our breeding the fries borned in damaged body form.All so healthy fries didn't live more than 2 days! Is that happens because of eugenol? What could you advice us to resolve this problem?

Eugenol - a phenylpropanoid that occurs naturally in for example cloves seems a bit unlikely as a substance to ship fish in, as in reasonable dose it is lethal to fish [at least, I think so, clove-oil is certainly used as a method of euthanize fish - the active ingredient may well be something else].
I don't know what effect a lower dose would have, nor what would cause birth defects and short life on the fry - but all kinds of water quality CAN have that effect on fry.

Sure the water chemistry cause these damages but i'm still breeding pandas, sterbais,trilineatus and a few more. If i'm wrong in something on water these species must have same problems too! Thanx for your reply but i have to find eugenol or something else's solving way!
