Gagata cenia and Puntius denisonii

Post by nvcichlids »

I was thinking of getting some g.cenia to keep and have been dying to get some Puntius denisonii as well. Do you gus suspect they would do well together or not? I have no experience with the g.cenia, and there isn't a TON of information on them. Will the barbs out compete them for food or are they active enough feeds that they should do fine?

Thanks in advance,

Nate

I wouldn't do it

the puntius likes regular tropical temperatures and also they are strong and fast fish

not agressive, but definitely foodcompetitors.

best keep fragile rheophile coolwater species like Gagata in a tank of their own
you might mix em with fish like Erithistes or Hara or surface dwellers like Red Shiners (Notropis chrosomus) or White cloud Monnows (Tanichthys albonubes).

but I wouldn't mix em with robust semi bottomdwellers like Puntius.
