Brachyrhamdia

Post by Bijn »

This week I bought 6 , at least this was what I thought. When they started to show their colors I noticed some slightly different fishes, I believe they are .

I think I have 2 B. meesi and 4 B. marthae.

The ones with the dark blotch on the caudal peduncle look to be marthae but i'm no expert on these.
Lou: Every young man's fantasy is to have a three-way.
Jacob: Yeah not with another fu**!ng guy!
Lou: It's still a three-way!

The majority of them are meesi. As Richard says the one with the darker drosal may be a marthae. The easiest way to differentiate them is that marthae lacks the vertical band through the eye. Hard to tell on your images but the one with the blotch in the dorsal doesn't appear to have the eye band.
