will barbels grow back?

will barbels grow back?

are whiskers/barbels like fins in that they regenerate if they are broken off?

Yes. Sometimes quicker than fins, I might add.

And it helps if there not kept on sharp gravel or anything like that, regeneration is faster on fine "soft" sand.

I have had whole fins regenerate... with a little TLC they will grow back almost better than before!! I would watch out for fungus in areas that have an injury... good water params are a must.
Too Many Tanks... Too Many fish... not enough time!!!
