Max size of Panaque sp. L206
Ingo Siedel wrote in his book "Back to Nature" that is one of the smallest Panaque species. Its max size only 8 cm long. But in Cat-eLog written that its size 100 mm.
For compare by "Back to Nature" is 12 cm long. And by Cat-eLog and are one size 10 cm.
Why is such distinguish in size between Cat-eLog and "Back to Nature"?
Does one and a half bigger then or not?

Re: Max size of Panaque sp. L206
I have Loricariids that are more than an inch larger than the "accepted" standard length in my home. I also have a few I've owned for 10 years that are inches smaller. The potential for growth and adult size can be influenced by many factors. The listed differences might need to be reviewed, but they might also just be an instance of Ingo or Jools having seen an especially large specimen at one time or another.
I have a bristlenose here in my store that came from my stock. I've owned the adults 9 years. When they brought this male back in I thought they must have purchased it somewhere else. He is easily 6" TL. None of my breeders ever reached 4". They loved to feed and really pushed him during his developmental stage and he is a stunning fish. He is just also far outside the genetic "norm" for my fry. I've sold literally thousands. This is the only one I've seen this large. He most definitely IS huge though. Do we include that as the "max. size? Or call him a freak of nature and extremely good husbandry? See the dilemna? ;)

I totally agree with you:) And I think the same too.Do we include that as the "max. size? Or call him a freak of nature and extremely good husbandry? See the dilemna?
But there is two points that I'd like to clarify:
1. The size of moost of species in Ingo's book are bigger then the size in Cat-eLog. (I don't know why is that. May be Ingo represents Total Size instead of Standard or something else.) But the size of Panaque sp.L206 is smaller. It is a little bit weird as for me.
2. I have 3 adult Panaque sp. L206. Two of them are bigger the the third one.
Here are the bigger two:

And the third one is much older and much smaller then these two. Unfortunately I don't have a good picture of the smallest one.
Only this one:

All three Panaque came from Peru from one place but as far as I know in different time. They were kept by different persons before I got them. So, I agree that their size difference could be due of the conditions they lived before. Or maybe some one knows something that I don't know about Panaque sp.L206 size.
(I mean could it be that there is more than one species in L206 or real L206 realy grows not more then 8 cm, and the fish that we think to be L206 the same size as P.changae is really a form of P.changae.)
All written are just my thoughts:)

I would be inclined to suggest a change to the catelog to reduce the size of L206 to 80mm. I have some and they are smaller than the P. changae I also have.
