L046 breeding tank

Post by Matt30 »

Hi everyone

Just wanted to know if keeping three L046 in a 60L tank was ok.
The zebras will be tiny and there will be no over fish in the tank.
The tank will have a Ehime filter 600L per hr I know this sounds a bit excessive
but it is dose not through the water about and I need a strong current.
Im not looking at getting a bigger tank for a least a year and half.

Any advice would be appreciated cheers

Within reasonable limits, area is normally more important than volume for bottom feeders- aka territory. However, unless your tank is hugely tall and thus small in area, you should be fine with 3 zebras growing out in that tank for years and even living there longer term given sufficient cover when they are older.

As long as you keep the water sufficiently oxygenated and clean (while they are growing), flow rate is not a critical factor in terms of current.
