Pepper in HD

Post by MonteSS »

Messing around with a new camera. The macro mode is excellent, especially for around $100. Kodak Zi8.

Here is my fat male. The five ladies in the tank love him.

Thanks. I just figured he was so much bigger than the rest. He is almost 3", and the smaller ones are all over him sometimes.

Here is a vid with my old camera where they were going nuts one day.

You have it backwards, this is certainly a female being chased by males. Pretty fish, though!

Definitely a female C. paleatus. males are never that fat, tend to be smaller, slimmer and have much longer and pointed fins.
Females are chased and males do the chasing.

Yep, they're right. That's the female. Looks just like my big fat girl! The boys chase her all the time and I've watched them spawn many times. In fact it was cool seeing her holding eggs in her fins one time. I tried to video it, but she went into the plants before I got much of it.
