Is this really a common bristlenose?

Post by dan1984 »

Hi,

I have kept bristlenose catfish for a while and I have both albino common colour variations. I just bought this guy from the LFS as a common but his colouration looks a little unusual. I was wondering if he might be the calico colour variant.

Thanks in advance,

I would suggest that it's a stress colouration of the common variety.

I fixed your image link, and edited the post accordingly - flickr doesn't make it that easy link directly to the images, they only provide convoluted links that involve clicking on thumbnails...
