hi dear users
i'm 16 year old boy from germany
i loved fish since i was 8, and i still do.
so i bought a 150cm tank, yet there is no fish in it.
i looked around for nice fish that can live in water with a temperature around 20°C (room temperature).
so i found this page, i think its the best about catfish.
Because of the tank's size, i'd like some catfish around the size of 30cm and the typical character of pimelodidae and similar families.
can anybody give me an introduction about these fish?
are they only active at night or do they move at the day too?
do i have to feed them with living fish?

How about Pimelodus ornatus?
They are nocturnal, but you may be able to coax them out at feeding time. And they don't need to be fed live fish.

is 20'C not a bit cold for ornatus?
Telorp, you widen your range by a million other fish, if you put in a heater.....
on the other hand, if you can "unglue" yourself from the fixation on Pims, you might be in time a very good Corydoras barbatus breeder with that tank.
talk about stunning fish, that qualifies as one; definitely!

its no problem if the catfish need to be fed with living fish, my uncle got
kind of ''fish farm'' with swordtails/mollies/guppies, and he'd give some to me weakly,
i could put them into a small tank for surviving them till they are throwen into the
catfish's tank.
i searched for some catfish in the internet, and i found these :
Leiarius pictus,
Goslinia platynema
Duopalatinus malarmo
Aguarunichthys torosus
Batrochoglanis raninus
Neosilurus gloveri
Brachyplatystoma juruense
is any of them ok for the tank?
