Treating ich when a Common Pl*co is in the tank.

Post by Fiddler William »

My community tank just now [ literally, within the past hour ] broken out with ich cysts on the vast majority of the fish inside.

I am concerned about using ANY sort of treatments because I am unfamiliar with treatments while pl*cos are in the water. I have a True Albino ommon Pl*co, as well as various crabs and shrimp in the tank.. not to mention the fish themselves, which consists mainly of Mollies, 1 tetra, a CAE, a Dwarf African Frog and a two Bala's.

The only ich treatment I have avalible right now is a medication made of Formalin and Malachite Green, It says 1drop per gallon normally, 1 drop per 2 gallon for Tetra's.

Do I just follow the instructions or does anyone here have a better suggestion? I really don't want my fish to die, I've been on a death spree lately through all my different [ unconnected ] tanks, and I really don't want to loose anyone [ specially the pl*co and inverts ] in the community tank.

Please help :(

Raise the temperature of your tank and use the dosage specified for tetras.
