If you compare the head-shape, I'd say it's likely a female. But I wouldn't put my next pay-check on it... ;)

Hey
I'd say Fish 1 is a female and was almost certain......however, on the 3rd picture down Fish 1 appears to have cheek odontode growth that is growing over/past the first pectoral ray (ie over the white 1st ray and into the black one)...... can you confirm or get a closer picture of this??
Its head and body shape says female but i have never seen a female with cheek odontodes that long and usually use that as a way of sexing mature fish..... basically if odontode growth is over/past the first pectoral ray = male

Re: Male and Male? or Male & Female?
Andy yeah it has one hair or so either side that seems fairly long but the rest are short, not sure it goes over the fin that much, will check if I ever take it out the tank again but then I think my other female may have this too, this is my other pair and i am 100% its a male and female, do you agree?? pretty sure the female is gravid with eggs
