Pimelodus pictus group size

Post by bigamefish »

Hello on my next trip to my lfs I am picking up some Pictus cats and I was wondering if a group of 3 would be ok?

Whats the size of your tank, and are any other fish in there?
But in general I don´t see a problem with a group of 3 specimens.

I would not add Pimelodus pictus at all to this tank, it is too small in my opinion. They are good and persistent swimmers.

Catfish? What kind of catfish?

Hi,

well, your tank is even now overstocked.
And I am sorry that I didn´t investigate more time to help from the beginning....

P. pictus are a shoaling species. They are cheap too and, IMHO, awfully cute. Any size group would be fine, from my experience.
