Elephantitis

Post by PNRICAN »

MY Catfish has elephantitis or something like it! First, I don't even know what kind. Second, half of it's face is gone. I am so sad. Can anyone help me out?

UGH I don't know how to post pictures either.[/img]

Read the FAQ and this to see how to post a picture.
As for the disease, does the fish have cauliflower-like growths on the face? If so, it's lymphocystis.

There are no cauliflower like growths on his head. Actually, half his head is gone. What is left of him is kinda shredded. That site you told me to go to isn't working. I can e-mail anyone a picture if they want to see the poor fella.

umm, that sounds more like a serious wound, and possibly subsequent infection of the non-removed part of the head... from your description it sounds like the fish will be very likely dead by morning.
