Aspidoras spilotus/ C125

Greetings all,

I'm beginning to see more people lumping the A. spilotus and C125. I'm under the understanding from a discussion with Ian that the two fish are different species. I'm hoping someone can elaborate on this further. Is it appearance and/or location that distinguishes the two?
