My 2 inch eel tail catfish has this hollow log that he loves. I call it his "house". Well anyway I took it out the other day because it blocked everything in my tank. Well now he hides in the rocks (half the time you can't see him) and he used to come out swimming for food, say hello at the front of the tank and be happily swimming around the tank. Is my fish depressed?
(Stresses in my language lol)

Re: Depressed eel tail?
Probably more scared. You moved its favourite hiding spot and now it feels a little lost I should imagine. My clown loach will go round the tank for over an hour if I remove his ornament looking for it. So now days once a fish picks an ornament it likes I keep it with that fish.
Try putting it back if it goes straight in and behaviour returns to normal in a few days just wanted somewhere to hide.
