Filter Question

This tank is about an 8 gallon tank, at least that how much water I put in it :p anyway, I think I may need a filter that is easier to clean or requires cleaning elss often :( the filter I have not in a Duetto Internal Power Filter, it has a mechanical filter, a bio filter and a carbon filter. The problem is that with the addition of my common pleco the filter gets clogged rather quickly with pleco poop and other things.

What would you guys suggest as filtration for this tank? It currently houses a Batrochoglanis raninus or Bumblebee Jelly Catfish and a common pleco from Petco.

they will both be moving to another tank soon, much larger, at least 55 gallon or bigger. as for now they are well fed and happy :) I can actually get the bumblebee out during the day! he refused to do this for the first month or so I had him (rescued him rather). I beleive he may actually recognise me now as the food bringer, everytime I come by the tank he pokes his head out and points both his Barbels out at me, the same he does for food. Kinda like a puppy dog waiting for a treat.

Do you really want to buy another filter now when soon enough you will be buying one for a 55G. I would skick with the cleaning for the moment and put the money towards getting a good quality external filter for the 55G.

the 55 Gallon will be a christmas present ;) as for this tank, I do eventually want another filter, this tank will be used after the 55 Gallon arrives. Not sure what will be in it but if this thing gets clogged that quickly with just those two... I need something easier to clean. I frightened the pleco the last time I cleaned it, he calmed down a little while later and is ok :P so I want something that I dont have to reach inside and remove the entire thing to clean the mechanical filter.

also, how would you recomend I clean the Bio filter, its a sponge after the mchanical filter, I just wanna make sure it flows still and that I dont kill the bacteria there.

Eheim or fluval make the best internals or can you get hold of TMC rio internals? IMO they are the best.
