Pimelodus speciosus, new species (Pimelodidae)
Costa e Silva,T., Ribeiro,F.V.R., Lucena,C.A.S. & and Lucinda, P.H.F. 2018. Pimelodus speciosus (Teleostei: Pimelodidae), a new catfish species from the rio Tocantins drainage, Brazil. Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters, Volume 28, Number 2 (January,2018):97-106.
Pimelodus speciosus, new species, is described from the rio Tocantins drainage, Brazil. It differs from its congeners by the possession of a unique colour pattern consisting of variably shaped dark blotches irregularly distributed along the flanks and coalescing horizontally and vertically, and background coloration light pink to light grey. Pimelodus speciosus is an additional example of species reinforcing the hypothesis of the rio Tocantins drainage as an area of endemism within South America.

Thanks for posting Lee, shame it's behind the München paywall. I think Eric added the n. sp.
Cheers,

Hi Jools,
I was sure that I had put the "new species" in the subject, but if not thanks to Eric.

Lee, I believe Jools was referring to the fact that I created an entry for the new species in the CLOG, not that I typed it into the subject line of your post. That type of power - to be able to edit or delete or move someone else's post - is above my pay grade.lfinley58 wrote: 10 Jan 2018, 13:37I was sure that I had put the "new species" in the subject, but if not thanks to Eric.

Hi Dave and Eric.
Thanks to both of you for putting me on the right track. I guess I was a bit derailed.
Have a good one guys.

Jools, in that Dave and Eric got your meaning I guess that I was just being a bit foggy.
