Hi I am new to keeping Catfish and I have a Juwel Rekord 120 set up as a community tank, with plants and bogwood.

I currently have two flying fox (bout 4-5 inches long) two baby clown loachs (bout 1.5 inches long) 2 male Kribs, 2 odd tetras and 6 other fish about tetra size but im not sure what they are called (if anyone can name them id be greatful, you can see a pic at:

I have just got two catfish: the Pekoltia and Chaetostoma cf. Thomsoni, is it ok to keep them together in this tank? As the Chametostoma seems a little territorial towards the Pekoltia. If not would the Chartostoma be ok in the 60cm tank that i have?

I was thinking of getting another Pekoltia or another catfish, is this ok for this size tank?

Also what should i feed them as i understad that the Pekoltia likes meaty foods???

If you mean the fishes of picture 105, they are Neontetras (Paracheirodon innesi).

I don't think they are neon tetras. They look more like some kind of Aphyocharax (bloodfin tetra).

doesn't really look like any tetra I've seen before . . . are they blue on the side? If so I would almost certainly say neons, but I wonder about the extent of red in the tail . . .

You are probably right, Silurus!
They look very similar to Paracheirodon innesi "Diamondhead" (s58226-3 in aqualog photo collection 4). They lack the blue band.

But, they also look almost identical to Aphyocharax rathbuni (s02760-4 or s02761-4 in aqualog photo collection 4).

Some innesi forms have this red colored tailbase, and some dont. What speaks for rathbuni is the red colored adipose fin (the little fatty fin typical of Characins, Salmonids etc).

The fishes were probably moving, making the photo a little bit blurry.

Thankyou for that, looking at the suggestions they are Aphyocharax rathbuni...... cause they have a greenish body and some have the white tips (must be the males)

Thanks for that..... any suggestions on the keeping of catfish???
