Help IDing a suckermouth catfish
Having trouble IDing this guy. Generally hangs out on a woodpiece and has some thorny scales down the lateral line and thorns on the pec fin spines. Any ideas?

Hi thattrashdad,
Welcome to PlanetCatfish! As far as your fish, it reminds me of , but it doesn't quite look right for that, and the camera angles are odd. Can you get any side photos (esp. with fins flared), or photos from above in which the whole body and fins can be seen?
Cheers, Eric

Re: Help IDing a suckermouth catfish
Hi Eric thank you so much for your reply! He's been on that piece of wood the last few weeks and I didn't want to stress him out beyond picking up the wood for a picture. This definitely looks like the right species from when I've seen him out and about. Thanks again for you're help!
