Not the usual Ancistrus or..?

Post by crayleone »

Hi! I'd like to have some help to ID my catfish? Seems to be in the Ancistrus family but not the usual one? Any hints? L-number? Thanks in advance. /Robert

Hi!
Orange spots are usually encountered on
Ancistrus hoplogenys and on Ancistrus sp L59
How big is this female?
Cheers

Hi Yann! Thanks for your reply. She's about 3" or 7-8 cm.

I would go for L-59 because the few numbers of spots and the orange markings in the fins and also that I know that this species was imported to sweden not to long ago.

First time I saw the L-59 here was last spring but the importer have had them in stock a few times before that and last I saw them was in november last year when I was visiting the company.
