Oh, yuck! Ick! Two Bala Sharks are showing a light sprinkling. I think I need to be aggressive in treating this, yes? (It's not as big an issue with the other fish I keep, but I gather it's more treatening for tropicals.) I'm heading out now to pick up some "ick cure" (most likely a formalin + malachite green preparation).
I am not aware of any cautions or contraindications for: bala sharks, tiger barbs, common plec (L.pardalis), and striped raphaels. Please post back if there are any special cautions I need to be aware of for any of these fish!
Bleep bleepidty ich. Never thought I'd see it again, but haven't added a new storebought fish for years either.
Paramaters: 120 gallon tank, all individuals are young and very small (and very new). No ammonia, no nitrite, ~40ppm nitrate, 75F, pH 7.2
Off to the pet store, cursing under my breath. If I don't hear otherwise I'll half-dose on return and repeat to bring it to a full dose as soon as I can confirm that all will be okay with it.
