supposedly new peckoltia - need identified / source for fish

Post by Heliophobe »

Hello all. I found an interesting "peckoltia" on a website called oddballexpress.com. i can't find a match anywhere.

i emailed the guy who says he has one not for sale and is trying to get more. he named it silver pleco. he says they are rare and expensive.

apparently the natives call it guimares plec. it's from peru and the juveniles have totally different coloration.

any idea what it is or where to find them?

Hi!

its not a Peckoltia but some kind of Glyptoperichthys. A fish that will grow to around 40-60 cm and for sure will lose this juv coloration and turn to some brown/spotted color.
cheers
