I got a few catfish from the petstore today, and they were labeled glass catfish. I compared it with the glass catfish (Kryptopterus minor) that I already have, and noticed they have two dictintly different characteristics.

one of them is that they have eight barbels (instead of two, for Kryptopterus minor), and that thesebarbels can be "tucked" away under their belly, as shown this pic.

second is that over all they have more black pigment then Kryptopterus minor. They have a dark band across the body, and the top and bottom of their body have more back pigment.

Also, they are usually more transparent, more like the glass cat. But I think they turned opaque from the stress of me trying to take their pictures.
any help?

thanks

They should be OK, seeing that they are schooling together.
