wich substrate??

Post by Jeff B. »

hi guys!
I was planning to put in my juwel rio rekord 70L tank some hypancistrus(L270, maybe L046...),
and i will change powerhead with some stronger model so i can get strong current for my zebras...
My question is... Can i put inside fine substrate??
Can 1mm substrate destroy "rotor" on my powerhead???
Thanx in advance

Hi Jeff,

I would suggest, a 3 to 5 times turnoverreate per hour would be enough. Look at Shanes wourld, e.g.the breading reports. Janne Eckström takes a 1000l/h pump for a 250 Liter tanker..

in this case, an 1mm diameter sand is o.k.
best regards
