Transplant Algae ???

Hey everybody, I'm new to PC's forum, but not to fish and PC,

My question is- is there any way to transplant algae ?

What do you want to do it for? To feed your algae eaters?
There's a better way here.

I want to get the algae of one of my 20's glass light separater( the piece of glass right under the light.

I have monster green algae on it and I want to put it down on the rocks and take to the rocks and grow there. Is it possible ?

It's possible, but it's much easier to grow the algae from scratch.
