Less than two weeks to sign up!
There's less than two weeks to register for the catfish convention! For those of you planning to attend who haven't yet registered go to http://www.pvas.com/catfish/registration.htm to sign up. October 1 is the deadline. The hotel room block for rooms for the convention expires that day as well and the hotel will be selling the rest of their rooms to the general public. Since the hotel is sold out except for the convention block, I expect that the rooms will go very quickly after that.
A couple of other notes: We've lined up some great prizes for the fish shows at the convention. To get in on the action, see http://www.pvas.com/catfish/fishshowentries.html. Also, we need digital photos of catfish for slide shows during the convention! The slide shows will be on in between speakers and the other events.
See you in October!

What dimensions do you need the digital photos to be Andrew, and how many of which types do you need? I've got 50 or so that I could contribute, I think, and I could probably get another 50 more of fish at the store and what not, if needed. I can't make the convention, so at least I could contribute something!

Any size that will reasonably be reproduced by a digital projector would be great! I've foudn that if they look good on my screen, they look good projected too. Photos can be sent to [email protected].
Thanks Barbie, and sorry we'll miss you in October.

As I've no access to a digital projector, I'm not sure just what sizes that would be ;) Does anyone else know? I've got quite a few pictures in their original state as they were pulled from my camera that I can retouch and send on. They're huge, but it gives you more pixel definition, if the projector adapts for that to fit the screen somehow. The file sizes will also be quite large that way, so I might just zip them all together and upload them for you, if that works. Then you can simply download the entire mass of them without tying up the mail server?

Barbie,
I get pictures straight from the camera at around 3.5 - 4 meg and then for Power point presentations re-size to around 600 k width, this gives a good image resolution on a 6 ft screen.
What I found was that with larger images they take longer to load, which can create a delay between picture.
