Thanks for such a quick response, yes he is a very friendly plec, and I like his markings, he is good friends with my gibbecept pleco. I also have 2 albino longfin bristlenoses in my 40 gallon tank. One more stupid question for my record ( record of dumb ???) :) . Is a bristlenose just that? I hear people refer to them as bristlenose plecos.

And why the pl*co instead of the true spelling?

Hi!

No these are often refered as common pl*co.
Brsitlenose are species of the genus Ancistrus such as for exemple the common one:

pl*co is a easy name to remember... especially for shops, so they basically over use it...
adding other word to it... Tiger pl*co, zebra pl*co etc...

Actually we shall say pl*co when refering to

Cheers

Hi!

doesn't have a L number.

L038 is a Peckoltia sp.
