Poorly fish

Hi I really need some advise my sailfin plec has dropsy I've tried treating him with melafix but he's getting worse :cry: This morning i found blood in the tank and what looks like his insides he's still alive but do u think I should put him outta his misery and if so whats the most humane way if there is one thanks murfi

Yes do so if there is no cure.
Most "humane" way: take a plastic bag with water from the tank, put the fish in, tie a knot and put it in the freezer.
Fish are coldblooded, so when the temperature drops (which is obvious in a freezer), the fish will quietly pass away.
