Common Name
Type Locality Small pond in a brook tributary to Río Guayabero, about 1 kilometer from mouth of the brook, Orinoco System, Colombia.
Synonym(s) Pygidium metae_guayaberensis
Etymology Greek, itys, ityos = circle + Greek, glanis = a fish that can eat the bait without touching the hook; a cat fish.
