| Identification | For this species preserved specimens are uniformly brownish red, paler ventrally. In young specimens, 5-7 pale vertical bars may be visible on the flanks. Pectoral, pelvic, anal and sometimes also the dorsal fin are more or less transparent.14-17 anal fin rays. |
