Scientific Name Phenacorhamdia somnians  (Mees, 1974)
Common Name
Type Locality Sangadina, tributary of Rio das Mortes, 2 kilometers from Xaventina, Mato Grosso State, Brazil.
Etymology Phenacorhamdia from phenax, imposter or cheat and Rhamdia, a related genus, i.e., a false Rhamdia, presumably referring to similarity to that genus.
