Etymology | Trichomycterus: From the Greek trichos, meaning hair and mykter, meaning nose; in reference to the barbels. Lauzannii, in reference to Dr. Laurent Lauzanne, one of the first ichthyologists to work systematically on Bolivian ichthyofauna. |
