Just a quick update...
All is well, the fish is doing really good. He takes food offerings (algae wafers and flake) with no problems and there has not been any "encounters" between it and the two P. maccus. There are three particular places in the tank where the sand is predominate and it tends to ...

Re: What am I?
Thanks for all the first-hand experiences, folks...that's the best kind. I'll certainly keep an eye on the situation. So far, the fish has made it's way around the tank and found the areas where the sand is on top and buried itself. When I fed last night, it came out and was rasping on the algae ...

Re: What am I?
Wow, I guess I got a pretty sweet deal then...mine is about 3½ inches and I gave $10 USD. My substrate is a mix of pool filter sand, Tahitian Moon Sand, Eco-Complete and Fluorite. It has already found a spot where the sand is predominant and has subsequently buried itself, except for it's eyes ...

Re: What am I?
That's it! Thank you, Dave. I've put it in my planted 75g, so it should have plenty of roaming room.

What am I?
I found this little beauty in my LFS today and couldn't resist picking it up. I'm unable to find it in the cat-e-log though, so I'm unsure what it is. The LFS only had it marked "Whiptail Catfish" and the paperwork from the distributor said the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Shane! What is the difference between the F. vittata and the F. cf. vittata?

Please help ID my Farlowella
Good evening folks, I've not visited here in a while, but I've a new catfish that I need help to positively ID. From looking at the Cat-eLog here and doing some Google searching, I believe what I have is Farlowella cf. vittata. If one of you could verify, I would be greatly appreciative.

Re: Please help ID my pl*co
Yeah, after I posted that pic I looked around through the other "Help ID my pleco" posts and figured that out. He/she is in a fairly densely planted tank and doesn't come to the front that often, so as soon as I catch it up there, I'll see if I can snap a pic. Thanks for ya'lls help.

Re: Please help ID my pl*co
It finally came out of hiding and I was able to get this pic of it's mouth. If you need one from the bottom, let me know and I see if I can get one snapped next time it's out and about. Thanks for your help with this.

Please help ID my Pleco
I picked this one up today and it was labeled "Common" Plecostomus. I don't believe it is and that is why I grabbed it. I've looked through all the pics here, and can't seem to find a match, so any help would be greatly appreciated. He has what appears to be 7 rays on the dorsal if that helps any ...

What are we?
I've had two of these Synos in my Malawi tank for a few months now and I'm fairly sure they are Synodontis nigrita, but would like confirmation if possible.
